Grammy Winner Alysia Velez is a singer, actor, dancer and songwriter based in New York City. She made her Broadway debut as Rapunzel in the critically acclaimed revival of Into The Woods and continued wearing the "hair as yellow as corn" during Into The Woods limited engagements to different cities. Other musical theatre credits include In The Heights (Vanessa) The Drowsy Chaperone (Janet Van De Graaff), Ragtime (Sarah), Pippin (Leading Player), Aida (Aida) R&H Cinderella (Fairy Godmother/ Crazy Marie).
Alysia (BM ’22) moved to New York after receiving full scholarship at the Manhattan School of Music to study in their musical theatre program. Alysia also trained in classical voice with Florida Grand Opera and Miami Music Festival and had her opera debut with Magic City Opera playing the Sand Man and the Dew Fairy in their production of Hansel and Gretel. Other opera credits include The Marriage of Fígaro and Dead Man Walking. Alysia was also a part of TikTok's first commissioned musical and 2x Emmy Nominated show For You, Paige.

Alysia has choreographed and taught in the styles of Musical Theatre, Hip-hop, Jazz, and Ballet in New York and Miami. Her choreography won awards and consecutive superior rankings at the FL Thespian Festival and One Act Festival from 2013 to 2017. She was the choreographer for Miami Children’s Theater’s productions of Aladdin, The Lion King Jr. and The School of Rock. She was also the choreographer for Miami’s Troupe 88812 productions of Legally Blonde and The Sound of Music.
