Diana Gabrielyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia, where she began her musical studies at an early age. Her mother, a violinist and Diana’s principal teacher of both violin and piano, instilled in her a deep love for music. This profound passion led Diana to give her first public concert at the age of five. She attended the renowned Tchaikovsky Music School for Talented Children in Yerevan, and by the age of nine, she performed her first solo recital at the House-Museum of Aram Khachaturian.
Diana is a prize-winner of more than twenty-five national and international piano competitions across Europe, the United States, and Armenia, securing seventeen first prizes. Notable international accolades include the Gramsci Prize, the Rovere d'Oro Prize, the Rospigliosi Prize in Italy, and the "F. Chopin - Hartford” Prize. In 2000, during the "Great Jubilee," she performed numerous concerts, including one at the historic Palazzo Ruspoli in Rome, which was broadcast on Vatican Radio. Since then, many of her recordings have been featured on the "Diapason" program on Vatican Radio. Pierre Petit wrote in Le Figaro, “At the age of thirteen, Diana Gabrielyan shows overwhelming presence, passion, and sense of style.”
In 2005, Diana celebrated both the exhibition of St. Gregory the Illuminator's statue at the Vatican and the 800th anniversary of St. Nicholas of Tolentino with a performance at the Basilica of Saint Nicolas of Tolentino. She was awarded an Artist Medal by S. B. Nerses Bedros XIX, Patriarch of the Armenian Catholic Church of Cilicia. In April 2014, her first CD was released by the Odradek Records label, featuring music by Stravinsky, Shostakovich, Babadjanyan, and Mansuryan.
Diana graduated with distinction from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Music in Rome, specializing in both Classical Piano and Chamber Music. She also attended the prestigious International Piano Academy "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola, Italy. Her repertoire spans from the Baroque era to contemporary works. She performs extensively, participating in various festivals and giving solo recitals in prominent venues such as the Rome Opera House, the Marcellus Theatre, the Aula Magna of the Sapienza University in Rome, the Malibran Theatre in Venice, the Siotto Concert Hall in Cagliari, the Gaber Auditorium in Milan, the Mozart Hall of the Philharmonic Academy in Bologna, the Maison de l’Italie, the UNESCO Salle de Cinema, and the Cité des Arts in Paris.
