Laura Madrià is a versatile musician who is specialized both in violin performance,
education and cultural management. She was born in Sant Hilari Sacalm, where she started her music studies at her own town school and later on the Girona Music Conservatory where she finished her pre-college studies in violin performance and chamber music with honors.
In 2010 she was awarded her Bachelor in Education in University of Girona and later on, in 2014, she finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona where he had studied under the guidance of Manel Porta and Arnau Tomàs from the renowned Casals String Quartet in chamber music achieving outstanding results.


Later, she continued her violin studies with Prof. Abel Tomàs, violinist from the Casals String Quartet seeking the violin excellence and preparing recitals.
She has a vast experience in orchestral performance in orchestras such as the
Symphonic Orchestra of Vallès, the Giorquestra, the Iberica Orchestra, the Liceu
Conservatory Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Catalunya, the Salvat
Ensemble or the UNESCO Orchestra. She has also been invited in classical music
festivals in Europe such Aurora Music Festival in Sweden.

 

She has always been interested in expanding her skills as a music educator, so she studied the Dalcroze eurhythmics method and received the certificate and the Postgradute in "Music and Movement" at the Institut Joan Llongueras of Barcelona, which is linked to the Dalcroze Institute in Geneve (Switzerland).

Laura Madrià has an extensive experience of over 10 years teaching privately, in
regular schools and in music schools. Since 2019 she serves as a music teacher for the Education Department of Generalitat of Catalonia and since 2020 she is one of the violin teacher in Riborquestra, an intergenerational and music orchestra Project in Barcelona that has been awarded with Carles Capdevila Grant.

She has recently been appointed to the NYC Piano Academy faculty where she is the Head of Music Theory Department and where she teaches music theory to prepare students for the ABRSM exams.
