Lucia Mihyun Ahn was born in Jeju, Republic of Korea. She started playing the piano at the age of 3 and gave her first recital at 11 at the Jeju Halla Art Hall.
At the age of 13, she moved to France to study in Paris. She unanimously won the performance diploma being the youngest student and later obtained the Performance Superior Diploma both at L'École Normale de Musique de Paris “Alfred Cortot” under the guidance of Germaine Mounier and Guigla Katsarava.
In 2009, she graduated with the unanimity of the jury from the D.E.M.S at the Conservatoire National Régional de Paris with Oliver Gardon.
Later, Lucia continued her music studies at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, where she graduated from Bachelor of music degree with the highest score, under the guidance of Alfredo Perl.
In 2016, she graduated from Master of music degree and in 2019 from 'Konzert examen' both at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover under the guidance of Ewa Kupiec and Olivier Gardon.
Lucia is currently pursuing Doctoral studies in music at Seoul National University with Prof. Min Jung Lee.
She has been awarded numerous prizes in international competitions, including the 3rd Prize and the Audience Prize at the International Hanover Chopin Competition (2017), Prizewinner at Deutschen Klavierwettbewerbes Polnischer Musik in Hamburg (2016) , 3rd Prize at the international Piano Competition PRIX AMADÈO de piano in Aachen (2014), 1st Prize at Concours International Leopold Bellan Paris (2014), 2nd Prize and Audience Prize at Grand Prix International Piano Montrond-les-Bains in France (2014), 1st Prize at the Steinway & Sons Piano Competition in Paris, 1st Prize at the Rhodos International Competition -Junior- in Greece (2006), 2nd Prize at Osaka international Music competition in Japan (2005), etc.

She has played as a soloist with orchestras such as Romania Giurgiu Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech OPAVA Symphony Orchestra, Jeju Youth Orchestra, and Sinfonieorchester Hannover, and has also given many recitals and concerts in important Korean and European venues such as William Walton Foundation in Ischia (Italia), Salle Cortot in Paris, Pfarrzentrum St.Augustin Coburg in Germany, Filharmonia Gorzowska in Poland, Concert at VHV Versicherungen Hannover, Landesmuseum Hannover, Jakoby-saal in HMTM Hannover, Fondation Leopold BellanSepteuil in Paris, Kalletal-Hohenhausen in Germany, Biblotheque Polonaise (for the 200th anniversary of Chopin), and at the Korean- French Culture Center in Paris, Kumhoarthall Yeonsei in Korean. She has recently performed at the Jeju Ara muse Hall, Ujung Art Hall, Rising concert at Yamaha-Korea and at the Jeju Art Hall.
She has given piano duo recitals with important musicians such as pianist Marek Drewnowski at the Sala Widowisowa Palladium in Warsaw.
Lucia Mihyun Ahn has been selected with full scholarship at music festivals such as the organized by State University of New York in New Paltz and the Internationale Musikakademie in Liechtenstein where she worked with Prof. Hung-Kuan Chen. She has also participated in masterclasses by professors Vladimir Feltsman, Haesun Paik, Phillip Kawin, Andrzej Jasinski, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Bernd Goetzke, Bernd Glemser, Jerome Rose, Bruno Rigutto, among others.

Lucia currently serves as a piano faculty at the Sunhwa Art middle school, Art high school and at the New York City Piano Academy in United States.
